Sin or Distraction?

The only things we accumulate are distractions … or rather, when we live an open and free life accumulating distractions doesn’t matter.

He/She might call them something else: money, trophies, a successful partner who makes them look good, gadgets and gizmos, drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, friendships, fame, other people’s energy … you name it, and there are people accumulating it.

We envy those who have more distractions than we do … they must be happier because they have more things to distract them from that gnawing, inky, blackness within.  The Void; that which must be avoided at all cost.  So … another distraction!  That’ll do the trick!

Many of these distractions are what religions deem to be “sins” and encourage their followers to fight against … and that has a certain worthiness.  It is not the distractions that should be fought against though … it is what is causing our burning desire FOR those distractions that needs to be addressed and worked through.  Fighting against the distraction is just a topological solution, when it is what lies beneath the surface that needs to be exhumed.

No amount of distraction will make that inner emptiness go away.  I’ve seen it all too often with drug addicts … their desire to be distracted from that inner emptiness consumes them to the point where they just … flame out.  That is an extreme example though … we all have our own distractions, and for each of us they are terrifyingly tangible.

Only when we embrace our Maker, and trust that God will be there with us through whatever horrors lurk within … like a trust-fall of the soul … THEN can we finally overcome.  THEN can we finally have peace, and happiness.  It isn’t easy … why do you think the majority of people try to distract themselves SO desperately?  There are tears, and heartache in there, anguish, and agony, lip-biting, pulse-pounding fear … despair.  Nobody wants to go through all of that … not when it’s so much easier to be distracted.

Whatever one is doing to avoid going to that place … is simply a distraction from the fact that we are closing ourselves to the opportunity of being awakened to who we were delicately and uniquely created to be.  It is SO easy to be distracted too … most of the time we don’t even realize we are being distracted, because it has just become a habitual way that we live life.

In the absence of distractions … once we have confronted our innermost fears, and found that God is right there alongside us … we can just BE … constantly OPEN as our true selves – in peace, and happiness, and contentedness.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.
