An excellent post – we all need to take the time to intimately know ourselves; our motivations.  Children are not a means to an end (social status, legacy, etc.) … they are their own unique selves.  What happens to a person in their childhood stays with them and forms them in some way, shape or form for the rest of their lives … and that includes parenting.
