Beautiful Lady

My meditations today (on my prior post, “Steadfast Love“) occurred while I was driving to Los Angeles, for a coaching.  A dear friend of mine is sick with pneumonia, so I stopped to get him a card.  As I was browsing, a woman of at least eighty years of age came to stand beside me … looking for a card of her own.  She had perfectly coiffed, white hair … along with a neatly ironed, mostly pink outfit.  I found the card that I wanted to get for my friend … I knew it because it quite literally made me laugh out loud.  The lady next to me smiled, and said,

“So you found one that made you laugh, eh?  I like to do that too.”  She said with a look of reminiscent joy.

I said, “Yeah … laughter is good for you, I think.”

We both continued looking at cards for a few moments and she finally said,

“Thank you for saying that.” the sweet lady said.  “It’s good for me to remember … especially at my age.”

She was very quiet after that.  I picked up the orchid I had selected, along with my card, and I said to her, “I hope that you have a wonderful day.”

The interesting thing was that this dear, sweet lady stayed in my memories for the rest of the day.  As I was driving to LA she kept showing up in my mind.  I found myself wanting to hold her … not in some sort of weird way.  I just wanted her to know how LOVED she is.  I realized that what I was feeling was the love that GOD feels for this woman … God wanted her to know how loved she was.  So I said a little meditative prayer where I asked God to give her an extraordinarily happy day.

As I was meditating on LOVE today, I realized that one of the most beautiful things that we can possibly be is to simply be used … to be a vessel … to allow God’s love to be given to another person.  All of a sudden things unfolded for me in a totally new way … I began to realize that my own love is flawed … if I TRULY want others to feel God’s love … it should be through me being a vessel … NOT through me giving my own love.

My love is flawed … God’s love is perfect.  Even for the people I love the most … in comparison to God’s love, my love pales.  I should hope to simply be a vessel for God’s love, so that it can spill out onto the world around me.

No matter the depth of the relationship … I should be aspiring to give God’s love … not my own.  God loves that person WAY more than I ever could.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.
