Soulful Comfort Food

Have you ever tried to be grateful for things that you really want to have changed?  It’s an interesting exercise.  It’s kind of like trying to make DELICIOUS comfort food without the benefit of cream, sugar, or butter.  It’s possible, but your culinary expertise has to be heightened a bit so that you know which herbs to combine with each other.  You have to investigate and find new ingredients that will still bring you pleasure, without the caloric downside.

Well, the same is true with your Soul.  We all probably have things in our lives that we want to change.  It’s especially difficult when you are at one of those crossroads in life … the end of one phase, and the beginning of another.  That is basically where I am right now, and I admit there are times where I feel like I am “chomping at the bit” to just get things going … so that I can finally ease into whatever it is that God has in store for me.

As I was meditating today, I zeroed in on the things (one especially) that I tend to be ungrateful about … the situation causes me to become grouchy, or close my heart chakra in reaction to the ongoing soulful discomfort.  I began looking at all the progressions in my life that date back a good ten to twelve years … progressions that led me to be exactly where I am today.

Suddenly God’s Divine Plan seemed to just miraculously unfold for me … like some sort of mental map.  The old heartbreaks that led me to make decisions that I had been thinking were mistakes?  Those were the instances that God used to influence me into creating a space for myself where I could actually take the time to work through all of the built up crap in my life … remove it from my space … and embrace my Creator in a beautifully open and whole-hearted relationship.  Without that … I would have been just going along from one mess to another … never having the time to do what I have done this past year.  I would most likely spend the rest of my life in such a state, until I DID finally take the time to do what I have done … and my current situation is what has allowed for that!

It definitely gave me a new appreciation of my current situation.  I won’t move on from this place until God wants for me to move on … which means … there must be more for me to glean from where I am right now.  If I’m not having the soulful comfort food I crave completely just yet??  Well, a little gratitude is JUST the ingredient to make my present repast a delectable hors d’oeuvres … or is it dessert??  I guess it depends on the perspective (i.e. beginning vs. end) :-).

Trusting God is just as important, or maybe moreso, when we’re waiting in some soulful holding patter … as when we are in action.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

Sounds like a plan to me! I try not to move too much unless Spirit tells me to. 🙂

The BEST way to be … really, the meaning of life … to simply be with God, wherever Spirit moves us to be :-).
