The Meaning of Life – Perspective

Life is about letting go … pure and simple.  Parents have to let go of their children.  Children have to let go of their dependence on their parents.  Lovers have to let go off each other when they grow apart … which happens for the majority of relationships.  Even for relationships that last 50+ years … letting go must happen when one partner, or the other, leaves the physical realm.  We are surrounded by LETTING GO.  It is an inevitable part of life.

What really causes us pain is when we refuse to let go … when we cling … or even worse; desperately grapple with!  Some thing, or person, causes us SO much happiness for a specific moment, or even for years of specific moments, and we don’t want to LOSE that.  We have made investments, after all!  We have invested time, energy, emotion, and our very own soul into some of these things … we CAN’T lose something we have invested so much into!

The problem is … this is what causes us to be unhappy.  We are hung up on a certain perspective … and we REFUSE to let that perspective go.

In my quotes to meditate on today, from my prior post “Just think of the trees“, Langya talks about how a tree doesn’t seek to keep a bird … nor does it pine for its return.  Could you imagine what would happen if that tree’s branches closed around that bird so that it couldn’t leave?  The bird would die.  Or conversely if the tree spent all its time pining for when it would see the bird again?  It’s hard to even think of such a thing, simply because trees DON’T DO that … one can only assume that tree would wither, and be unhealthy.

So what’s the point?  Well, it’s all about perspective.  When you look at life as a way of accumulating things … you want to hold onto them.  Your toys and gizmos, your future plans, your house, your relationships, etc.  … etc.!!!  It never ends … there literally is a never-ending string of things that we hold on to.

When LIFE … is about letting go.  We ultimately MUST let go of everything.  There is nothing in this world that we can keep … NOTHING.

When you start to view life from this perspective … you begin to see how much all of these things are holding you back from a meaningful relationship with God.  All of these things … EVERYTHING that you hold on to??  It makes you unhappy eventually.

So how do you let go … it all sounds fairly abstract, right?  Well … that is where a relationship with God comes in … I am not talking about ascribing to any one religion.  I am talking about you … the unique piece of spiritual art that you are … having your own personal relationship with God; that is completely unique to you.  There is nobody who has ever, or will ever, have your unique relationship with God.

When you find your Self fulfilled by God … you can then let go of everything with the knowledge that God will fulfill you, no matter where you go.  I know … it sounds like a pipe dream … but it actually is true … for those rare few who choose to explore the infinity that is God.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

So true. Happiness is there for everybody, but in truth we all have just been going in the wrong direction … it’s difficult to walk away from, or change. But it is work that is SO worth it. 🙂 Thank you for the re-blog.
