Closing Cycles
My words for meditation today:
“Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person – nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.
Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust. Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.”

“What matters is to live in the present, live now, for every moment is now. It is your thoughts and acts of the moment that create your future. The outline of your future path already exists, for you created its pattern by your past.”

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.
We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!
There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.
By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.
In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

Then I Walked Outside
My words for meditation today on the subject of “reality” … a wise person told me this very morning that there are two realities: the external reality (what is so/facts) and the internal reality (our assessments/thoughts). The external reality we don’t truly get to choose or create, although we try like hell to make our will be so there. It really is only the internal reality where we are able to have complete control … if we choose to become aware of that ability and use it.
To let our internal reality run amok as we try to impose our will on the external reality is madness.

Living With Uncertainty
In meditating on despair today, from my earlier post “Do Not Enter The Neighborhood Of Despair“, what I uncovered is that for me despair has a whole lot to do with uncertainty.
We all live with uncertainty, but I think that most of us don’t realize just how DEEPLY that uncertainty permeates our daily lives. There are the obvious areas of uncertainty; a job interview or audition, a first date, going home for Thanksgiving perhaps? 😉
If you look a little deeper though I believe you will find, as I did, that uncertainty is an almost constant companion. We learn to live with uncertainty as if it is the dust that is supposed to be swept under the rug.
“What if I get into an accident while I’m driving today?”
Is that really a question that you ask yourself each and every time you drive? I wouldn’t think so, but assuredly that question is lingering in your subconscious whether you are consciously aware of it or not. All throughout each and every day we ALL have these insecurities or uncertainties that arise in our minds, sometimes consciously but mostly subconsciously.
These lingering uncertainties that seem insignificant can grow though into an overwhelming state of fear or paranoia.
“What if they are having an affair?”
“What if they don’t like me?”
“What will happen to me if this project falls apart?”
… or even the dreaded,
“What if they die?”
So I meditated on these things today … these little “What ifs and maybes”. I allowed myself to call them up into my conscious mind and then I simply focused on keeping my heart chakra wide open. Every time my mind started to meander (as it inevitably does) I just made sure that I didn’t allow my heart chakra to close throughout.
I then visualized my fears around those uncertainties coalescing into an orb in front of me … and I sent that orb off into the horizon of my mind and asked God to transform this energy and use it in some positive way.
It’s not enough for me to simply do a mental exercise, so I gave my fears around those uncertainties to God. I didn’t fight the uncertainties though … I allowed them to be … I lived with them and accepted them as a part of my life.
What was the point of this? Well, it taught me a lot about living WITH uncertainties … and it also showed me the ends that I go to to either define or avoid uncertainties. I want the answers … well, THAT impulse is a knee jerk reaction to uncertainty. I personally do NOT want my life to be defined by my reactions to fear or uncertainty … that is, for sure, a path that leads to misery and despair.
Feel free to try this meditative exercise for yourself … and let me know how it worked for you :-).
Love and Peace.

Do Not Enter The Neighborhood Of Despair
These are my words for meditation today … do not despair, but rather be thankful that God will never forsake you … no matter who or where you are.
“Whatever happens in your life, no matter how troubling things might seem, do not enter the neighborhood of despair. Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful! It is easy to be thankful when all is well.”

“I have had to experience so much stupidity, so many vices, so much error, so much nausea, disillusionment and sorrow, just in order to become a child again and begin anew. I had to experience despair, I had to sink to the greatest mental depths, to thoughts of suicide, in order to experience grace.”

Journey The Inner Lands
This I have found to be SO true as I have journeyed the inner lands through meditation:
“That which is not can be taken away. That which is not is always taken away by meditation because it is false, and meditation is an effort to be true, authentic. That which is, is always enhanced by meditation. That which is not, is always taken away. That is the meaning of Jesus’ saying, ‘Those who have will be given more, and those who don’t have, even that will be taken away.”

Just think of the trees
My words today, for meditating on overcoming internal blocks:
“Just think of the trees: they let the birds perch and fly, with no intention to call them when they come and no longing for their return when they fly away. If people’s hearts can be like the trees, they will not be off the Way.”

“I cannot tell if what the world considers ‘happiness’ is happiness or not. All I know is that when I consider the way they go about attaining it, I see them carried away headlong, grim and obsessed, in the general onrush of the human herd, unable to stop themselves or to change their direction. All the while they claim to be just on the point of attaining happiness”

Grounding on Holy Ground
I attended mass today at a Catholic church for the first time in I can’t even remember how long. I am not Catholic, nor have I ever been. A dear friend was visiting, however, and invited me to join her as today is Pentecost. She was SO excited and sincerely wanted to share the experience with me … not from a place of trying to get me to convert to her religion, because she already knows I know God. She simply wanted to share what holds deep meaning for her and I took that as an honor and a privilege.
It was a lovely experience … but more than that, it was actually revolutionary for me to attend as the person I have grown into being … an open conduit of God’s Love.
There was a time in my life where I would have been resistant … not because of what denomination or even religion the institution was, but rather because I have come to treasure my relationship with God as a very personal thing. Something that cannot be contained by any singular religion. There was a time where the hairs on the back of my neck would stand on end at the very thought of someone else telling me what I could or could not do in how I connect with God.
That time is past though … now I can look around me and see that everyone is doing the best that they know how in piecing together the various puzzle pieces of our past: our families, our traditions, where we were raised, and so much more. We all want to be Loved … and we’re just doing the best that we know how (at this particular time and with the tools we all have at present).
When I arrived and took my seat, I closed my eyes and proceeded to connect with God in the most direct way I know how: Grounding. I sent my energy into the earth to give to it, and receive the blessing that this enormous chunk of Creation has and freely gives to all. We all, along with the Earth and all of Creation, are a part of God … and have that Divine energy to bless with as well as to freely give and receive.
I was somewhat surprised to note that there was resistance to my grounding attempt. At first I was puzzled, but in probing further I became aware of the actual reality that Holy Ground IS. This ground was set aside and blessed as a place of spirituality … but for Catholics.
I was not going to be deterred by this. I am a believer in Jesus and, as such, I sent my energy down into the earth again. This time I broke through whatever that barrier was, but the earth felt dry or parched to me … it wasn’t giving me anything. I felt like Indiana Jones breaking into a temple where I wasn’t wanted.
Slowly, I just began chanting the name of Jesus in my head. I invoked the Spirit of God and called up every memory I have of the miracles God has done for and through me. I allowed this energy to emanate out of me until I felt the very firmament of this spiritual place quake beneath me (not the church itself, but the meditative place I had gone to).
Suddenly I was rewarded with the peaceful Love of God’s Creation … but so much more than that. I really became aware of how MUCH power there is in these places that are set aside for sacred worship. It also made me aware of why the Church is so protective of that.
The time for that, however, is past. The Church is not in need of such isolation as a form of protection. It once did need this protection to survive … but now that protection only serves as a restraint; a dam to hold back the tidal wave of Love on the other side. The Church needs to unleash this Divine power and allow ALL to BASK in the beauty and glory and peace and joy that IS the Love of God.
So I broke into the vault … but was received. I entered the Holy Place as an outsider … but was given that Love that has always been held back for only those who accept the rules and doctrines of that order.
On the outside I respectfully followed their rules: I did not partake in communion as a non-Catholic, even though I know I am welcome by my God to do so. I sang the songs, and blessed the priest as he blessed us. The priest was so benevolently attentive and loving in how he tended his flock … all I could think of was,
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if EVERYONE could experience such tenderness and care … whether they accepted and followed a set of doctrines or not?”
God’s Love is for all … it can no longer be contained. I will take it upon myself to go through this same ceremony at every place of worship I go to, of every religion, for the rest of my life. If only to infuse that energy into their established foundation … to re-write the etchings on the walls of their foundations that have remained unedited for centuries.
God’s Love will not be contained … or restricted … or proxied out for obeisance … any longer.
