Lifetime regression
In meditating on acceptance throughout the day, I was taken to a point of contemplating the True Self.
My definition for the True Self is this: who you are when you are not reacting to internal or external phenomena. By this I mean we are most often reacting to either a tangible event in our lives, or our fears and paranoias that have accumulated over a lifetime of experiencing such events … events that we are hoping to avoid.
Over time these reactions can become an extremely complex web we spin for ourselves, a web that comes in many forms: white lies and subtle manipulations, at first. As we go further down the road, we see that we keep getting what we want and it continues to evolve. The problem is … that person is not our True Self. You can’t even find the True Self in the midst of all that chaos.
When we truly get to a point of acceptance (something which many wrongly construe as resignation) we allow all of these “chains” that bind us to disappear … the web dissolves. What we are left with is the True Self.
When you can accept where you are, or what has happened, or what might happen, or might not … and let go of it, allow it to be? Then you can breathe deeply and realize that you are free. Now, with a clear head, you can move forward as your True Self. That person who is following Spiritual guidance, as opposed to man-made constructs.
I went back in time; wondering if there was ever another point in my life where that True Self was evident. Certainly not in my memory. I went back to infancy. Many believe that “mankind is fallen”, even from birth. I just don’t believe that this is true (having looked into the eyes of many babies). That is our soul as the True Self.
What happens though is that we are quickly trained that if we cry, we get what we want. We learn that by taking our fate into our own hands, we can make the world do what we want. That trait is encouraged and empowered throughout our lives. The more aggressive we are, the better. Most often that does not concur with what God wants us to be. When was a child rewarded for sitting in a room, meditating, and being with God? In certain cultures that may be the case, but not in American culture, for the most part.
So the search for the True Self is really about undoing everything that has been trained and ingrained.
My ultimate point is that when our focus is on God … we can trust God to guide us. When I say that we need to go through a lifetime regression I am not saying there should be no rules. I am saying that we should spend our time listening to God for such guidance … instead of relying on man-made crutches. If God REALLY is there … why do we need anyone else to tell us what God is saying?
We should let be letting go of all of the negative reactions we have allowed, accepting where we are, and then moving forward in life as that True Self … not reacting, but ACTING as we are guided by God.
In order to get to that place though … each of us has to let go of our tangled web we’ve woven. We have to take the time to sit, and connect, and listen to what God has to share with us. We must let go of control, throw our arms wide and TRUST.
I realize that many people get nervous about something so unstructured … but I believe that when God is the basis of any action, LOVE will be the result. It is a curious musing that I found myself on today … I welcome any and all to agree, disagree, or expound.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

New Song For Collaboration – Unconditional Love (Reggae singer wanted)
This project seems completely boundless … a reggae singer audition!? I hope this collaborative music idea works, because I want to hear it … not to mention be involved in it! Maybe I should practice channeling a reggae vibe (lol).

This past week I was filled with inspiration to write a new song. I already have a lot of original songs lined up for this song project … but every so often a song comes along that is SO inspired that it rises up through the “ranks” and shines.
Interestingly enough, I hear the song as a reggae song … and anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a reggae singer! (lol) So this will be a HUGE opportunity for someone possibly new or unheard of to swing for the fences with a lead vocal!!

I will go with whoever MOVES me the most. This is a song about Unconditional Love, so if you share your soul when you sing … go for it!

Live demonstrations of musical options for song project …
Cute and definitely funny … can’t wait to hear how the final version of how this song comes out and I love the concept of incorporating different people, styles and ideas from all over the world.

Here are a few video clips giving tips or pointers for anyone not quite sure how to contribute their ideas, or get started.
My sister-in-law came up with the idea of putting together some videos that might help people who are unclear on how to contribute music for this song project. She was unsure of where to even start if she would want to contribute something and thought this might be helpful for people who felt the same way (intimidated or unsure how to get started).
I truly want to hear from EVERYONE who has an interest in contributing their voice, whether you are amateur or professional. I will be layering tracks of peoples’ contributions into the accompaniment, so even if you think what you have to offer is simplistic … that is totally fine.
You finding your “voice” in terms of instrument or singing is what is important to me. Each of you has a UNIQUE voice. First, I am starting with my niece and nephew with some pointers for guitar and voice:

So there you have it … you do NOT have to be a professional musician to contribute (although that doesn’t hurt!) :-). The Comfort of Control
It’s so much easier to feel connected to God when things are going well. Have you ever wondered why that is?
This was the subject of my meditation time today and I discovered some interesting things.
For me, the most intimate connection I have with God is when I have taken the time to ground and center myself. I open my heart chakra and make myself completely vulnerable … and I allow the Spirit to just fill me up. Then I proceed into what usually is an hour long meditation time where I am basking in that, and asking questions, and listening for answers, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying, and opening myself more and more internally so that God can then fill those places as well.
This is what spending time with God means to me.
In looking at the opposite, the times where I feel distant from God, I discovered that the REAL reason for it is really all based in MY decisions. Sure, it is stressful when finances disappear, or you get blindsided by a catastrophe, or perhaps it’s just one of those days where something isn’t quite aligned and you pay the price.
In all of these situations though, I am the one who closes my heart. I am the one who severs that sacred cord of connectivity that flows from my heart to God and back again.
Those blindsides seem to cause almost a knee-jerk reaction … like you don’t even have time to make a decision! I will bet though that somewhere along the line there was a conscious decision. The initial closing of the heart might have been a knee-jerk reaction … but KEEPING it closed is the conscious aspect. We don’t want to let go of the precious control we feel we have (but actually do not). We want to comfort ourselves with food, or relationships, or going out and getting more money, or addictive behaviors. Those are the conscious choices.
Try it out just once … don’t take it on as a “should” to take on for your whole life. Just once, when you feel blindsided or in despair and you want to turn to those things that are your adult “security blanket” … stop yourself. Take fifteen minutes to open your heart back up and allow God to fill that space … let go of the control you think you have, or at least want.
Then, if you still want that cheeseburger, or cocktail, or more work to get more money, or an ogle of admiration … go get it. Just notice the difference … see if there is one after having taken some time to open your heart back up. There’s nothing wrong with some of these things we use to comfort ourselves … it’s the reason that we use them.

Collaborative Composition: Musical Mosaics that span the globe
Tired of being bored? What gives you passion and makes you feel as if you are “living on the edge”? For me, that feeling comes from being inspired and contributing something that is completely unique to me.
That concept is at the core of this new Musical Mosaic project … HOORAY, finally someone who really WANTS to hear exactly what is unique about you!!!
I have uploaded the first “a capella” (vocal, without accompaniment) song of what will be a 12 song album … and here it is, “Faith Is A Bird”:
I want to hear from any and ALL of you as to what YOU think would sound cool as an accompaniment. Whether you are professional, amateur, or music afficionado … you have a voice. You could be a pianist, a singer, a guitarist, a drummer, a crystal singing bowl wizard, or literally ANY kind of musical creation known to man. If it is your voice, I want to hear it!
All you have to do is put an earbud in your ear, listen to the sung version of the song … and record whatever comes to you. You can take some time to really hone what you want to contribute … or you can do it on the fly. It’s YOUR voice, so do what you want to do. Express yourself!

Harbingers of Self-Sabotage
I find it amazing how often the SAME things come back into our lives for us to work through!
My biggest obstacle has always been fear; and primarily fear of rejection (i.e. what others think of me) and fear of failure. These past couple of years, however, I have overcome all of what I know to be my greatest fears and have thusly felt liberated and vindicated! It kind of blew my mind a little to realize (while meditating yesterday) that sure enough I was allowing those SAME things to sabotage me yet again. How did they manage to creep back into my brain so stealthily?! I am grateful at least that I have gotten to a level where I can identify these harbingers of self-sabotage and work them out to a point of respite and resolution. In this light, here are my words for meditation today:

Kicking off this year long Musical Mosaic project – here is the first a capella song, “Faith Is A Bird”.
I will be uploading one new original song each month, totaling TWELVE Musical Mosaics to create an album. If your contribution is selected, you will receive equal musical credit … the same as me or anyone else involved in that song.
As an example, if there are 14 contributions selected for the entire song … then there will be 14 equal songwriting shares for the music on that song.

The idea of fusing some of your amazing ideas together into a worldwide musical mosaic has me, as a friend described yesterday, “luminescent”.
I am happy to share songwriting credit with any of you whose ideas are included in these songs. I will be posting a new original song each month, for one year, with the intention of putting together an album of songs that are completely groundbreaking … through all of OUR contributions fused together!
If you think I am somehow not excited to hear what YOU specifically have to share and contribute? Well … that’s just Resignation whispering in your ear, my friend. You have a unique voice that nobody else has … and I want to hear it, and share it, and bring you along with me on this journey of songwriting.

Stasis Clarity
If you could strip away every single thing about you … just exist; one and at peace with God. What would you be? Who would you be?
Every hope, every desire, every reactionary display of either aggression or insecurity?
Gone.
Every possession, every learned conception, every belief you’ve learned to “know” is truth?
Gone.
Every aspiration, inspiration, or daily exacerbation?
Gone.
Every relationship, every fiber and follicle of your corporeal being … every instant of time?
Now what? What do you do, where do you go, who will you be, what will you know? If all your knickknacks, paddywhacks, dogs to give a bone to … were just gone.
Maybe that’s a good place to start from. Maybe in that stasis you would actually find clarity. Maybe that’s what being enlightened is all about. Being able to literally “Let Go” … of everything … and just be with God, in God, of God … pure Love.
Impossible? No, we’ll all get there eventually … so perhaps the ultimate task is to make such a thing the conscious decision and expression of your life … instead of the unconscious and ultimate conclusion of mortality.

My name is Chris. I am a singer, songwriter and composer. I have composed music ranging through a broad spectrum of styles. I love music FUSION and I write what I hear in my head.
What I want to do is create truly original music that potentially fuses all SORTS of ideas. I want to create music that hits people right in the pit of their soul stomach.
I want to SHED the egoic persona of being the star … been there done that. I have no desire to be “above” anyone.
I thought about putting such a band together; one that is completely collaborative and open to many ideas from all members. Then a mentor and friend showed me THIS video:
I was so inspired by this concept … bringing together people from all over the globe through music. I thought,
“What if I could get people to contribute their OWN musical ideas for some of the songs I have written?”
So I created this page and will begin loading sung versions of songs, a capella … without musical accompaniment. The music is for YOU to create. It doesn’t matter how trained or untrained you are … it doesn’t matter what instrument you play.
If you want to sing backup harmonies, GREAT. If you want to play percussion on the spokes of a bicycle wheel, GREAT. If you play violin, piano, guitar, sitar or didgeridoo … GREAT. If you want to sing the vocal line I am singing, GREAT … if I like your voice better than mine for that particular song, I’ll use your voice for the lead.
Like a worldwide mosaic of music, we can change the way music is created!
Whatever you think would be an awesome contribution to the song … submit it. If your recording is selected I will list you as a co-songwriter/performer and potentially consider you for future songs, or even live performance down the road.
Whatever country you are from. Whatever background you have experienced. Whatever role you have played. Whatever levels you have achieved. Music is a common thread that brings us all together.
What have you got to lose?? What do WE have to gain???
I say we stand to gain a truly original, non-derivative style of music that has the potential to blow people away!
So send me your recordings in a WAV file. You can do this simply by sending me the recording off of a smart phone. If you have more professional equipment that is awesome, but don’t let that be a deterrent!
You can just listen to my singing with an earpiece and play/sing what you want with the Voice Memos or Recording capabilities of your phone or computer. It’s as easy as that … I can “clean” the recordings up on my end if they need it.
I will submit the first song within the next week … happy creating!
