Unconditional Love is here … for you!!! ;-)
Cool song! I wish I played a musical instrument so I could be a part of this song project … such a cool idea where anyone, anywhere in the world can be a part of the “band”.
~~~~~~~
re-blogged from Unconditional Love is here … for you!!! 😉 at Collaborative Composition.
(press play on the SoundCloud link above)
It’s here! “Unconditional Love”, a Reggae song … and it’s all yours to listen to, work with and create the accompaniment for. Listen to it, groove to it … if you want to sing the lead vocals record yourself singing it and send it to me at songboy_s_c@yahoo.com.
I am NOT a Reggae singer … so this is a BIG opportunity for someone to do lead vocals for an awesome song. This song flowed out of me in a wave of inspiration … and I am simply singing what I heard in my head (so you’ll have to pardon the phony accent, I just heard it that way! lol) I am singing it here, but this is only to convey the words and melody … if you want to sing lead? Go for it!
The long bit of silence 2/3s of the way through is meant to be for vocalist improvisation with a choir in the background singing “Unconditional Love” in chords.
This is the second Musical Mosaic song project for this year-long Collaborative Composition song project.
Anyone, anywhere in the world, can play whatever instrument they want to the vocals … when you have what you want to record down, send it to me. If I use your idea/contribution you will be given equal musical songwriting credit on the album.
That means if this album goes big your name will be on it for both songwriting credit AND as a performer. Nothing is a guarantee in this world … but why not live a life of hope rather than one of resignation. Resignation eats away at your insides and makes you miserable … so BELIEVE and go for it! Live out of inspiration instead … you’ll be much happier! 😉
Here are the lyrics:
Unconditional Love
By: Christopher Anderson
Unconditional love
means never closing your heart
although it be torn apart
or ripped to pieces.
Unconditional love
as pure as a newborn kiss
and as long Ouroboros
but much more gentle.
What they can’t see
can be heard in the silence.
Where they may go
so it follows surely behind;
like the tendrils of passion
it climbs the edifice of their mind
to bloom and spread a fragrance
Unmistakable.
Unconditional love
collapses all space and time
with all souls intertwined
but barely moving.
Unconditional love
it pierces right through your heart
tears flow at the very art
of its magic.
(choir sings “Unconditional Love” in chords while soloist improvs)
It can’t be broken
Cannot be changed
Not dismantled
Or rearranged.
No more fighting
No more hate
No more vengeance
It all dissipates.
It’s unconditional.
Love.
A Perfect Paradox
“I am already perfect … I need do nothing to become perfect … it is only my actions that are imperfect.”
That is a very different mantra than what I grew up with! For those who do not know, I grew up in a fundamentalist Christian missionary family. There were good sides and bad sides to this, as there is to all things … Dualiity. The wonderful side is that this upbringing is what introduced me to the concept of having a literal relationship with God … it doesn’t get any better than that! One of the many down sides is that I was imprinted with certain mindsets which I have now come to see are false … not only are they false, but they are harmful.
The specific mindset I am referencing here is the mindset that “We all are born sinners!” … horrible, awful sinners who must bemoan their woeful state and flagellate themselves constantly with the lashes of shame and penitence.
This is false.
We all truly are beautiful creations … at our core we are the unique, sparkling beauty of a soul that God created us to be. We have LEARNED to do evil things … but we are not evil at our core. We have taken upon ourselves the structures of the world around us: how we were raised, who we find to love, where we go for acceptance and validation, what we choose to believe, who we choose to follow, and the list goes on. These all are the structures we have built upon the fabric and foundation of our souls … and we will do ANYTHING to maintain the solidity and surety of those structures … even if it means doing things that are harmful to others.
It is in letting these structures dissolve we find the freedom to become the perfect and beautiful creatures that we were created to be. The more we adhere to these structures, the more we keep that perfect creation buried deep, SO DEEP, within the sealed up wells of our inner psyche. We do this thinking that we are protecting ourselves … if that True Self gets hurt it can be devastating. So we submerge it, and hide it, we bury it, and bind it … so that we won’t be hurt in such a way again.
In doing so, however, we are denying the perfection that already IS. We already ARE perfection … the perfection that God created us to be. It is only our ACTIONS that are imperfect … and those actions are based on what we have learned, taken on, or been brainwashed to believe.
Will my actions ever be perfect? No, probably not. That still doesn’t mean that I am a horrible, awful person at my core … and neither are you.
When you were born and those innocent newborn eyes looked out into the world … do you really believe you were evil?? No … you were perfect … and you still are perfect … your actions simply do not reflect that perfection. You have lost touch with the perfection that IS the LOVE of God. Love that is there for all of us, and LIVES in all of us already. All we can do is strive to reflect that Perfection into the world around us … strive to embrace the fact that we are all beings with Duality and to embody the perfect Love that is already there at our core.
Doing this means LETTING GO of the structures that are learned or imposed … not clinging to them more desperately.
THAT is a HUGE difference … at least for me.
You are perfect … JUST AS YOU ARE. God loves you … JUST AS YOU ARE.
Peace and Love.
Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.
We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!
There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.
By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.
In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.
Wrapping up “Faith Is A Bird” … bring on “Unconditional Love”! (a reggae song)
Awesome lyrics … LOVE it!! I was into this from the first song project … but I am stoked about the message in this new song. Can’t wait to hear it!
re-blogged from Wrapping up “Faith Is A Bird” … bring on “Unconditional Love”! (a reggae song).
Okay, it’s been a month so I am going to close out the “Faith Is A Bird” Musical Mosaic project and upload the next song on this 12 song Collaborative Composition project later this week.
The next song to be uploaded is called “Unconditional Love” … and it is a reggae song! So this is a HUGE opportunity for anyone who wants to sing the lead vocal!
I am not a reggae singer, but that is simply how the inspiration flowed and I am absolutely in LOVE with this song … so while I will be uploading the “a capella” version of the song with my voice, I do not intend to be the lead vocal on this track.
So if you have some reggae groove, I want to hear it … it doesn’t matter who you are, where you are from, or what your background is … ANYONE could wind up singing this song if your voice and spirit is a match. It’s whoever MOVES me the most.
If there is anyone who has been working on “Faith Is A Bird” and either hasn’t gotten their contribution in yet, or wants to contribute, I am still receiving contributions. I am getting to the point where the song is nearing completion in terms of concept though … so please do try and get your contribution in soon. I would hate to have anyone put their soul into something and have it not be used because the song has already been finished.
The vocals for the new song will be posted in the next couple of days. Here are the lyrics:
Do you play music by ear?
A project I am committed to contributing to.
Hopefully we can spread the word in this awesome effort to create a “world wide band” where anyone, anywhere in the world, can contribute their ideas for accompaniment to original songs.
~~~~~~~
Do you have an innate sense for where the music should go when you are playing piano, or singing harmonies, or jamming on a guitar, or whatever you instrument might be?
Guess what?! That is the exact quality that I am looking for with this year-long collaborative music project!
My goal is to put together a 12 song album and each song will be what I am calling a Musical Mosaic. By this, I mean that I will be piecing together contributions from anyone, ANYWHERE in the world.
I will upload one song each month, sung “a Capella” (without accompaniment) and then any of you can come up with whatever YOU think sounds awesome as an accompaniment. Each person selected will receive equal musical songwriting credit on the album for however many songs they contribute to.
Just grab a set of headphones, or an earbud, and listen to the sung version of each song … record what you come up with and send it to me at songboy_s_c@yahoo.com.
This month’s song, the first of twelve, is called “Faith Is A Bird”:
Rock out, get inspired, kiss Resignation goodbye and ride the tidal wave that is your inner muse. I want to hear what YOUR unique “voice” is … we all have something that makes us unique.
So let’s make uniquely revolutionary music together!

Dance, when you’re broken open
My words for today’s meditation:
“I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.”
– Maya Angelou
——-
“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create.”
-John Lennon
——-
“Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.”
– Rumi

Grasping at the Shadow
In my meditations today (on my prior post, “Aesop’s Fables“) I found myself inspired by each of the quotes really. I had every intention to write an extended post with a couple of paragraphs for each one. As I continued meditating, I just didn’t feel Divine inspiration down that path. For some reason the very first, and shortest, of the quotes from Aesop’s Fables kept returning to me:
“Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.” – Aesop
There are lots of ways that one could go with this quote:
I could say to a friend, or loved one, “Don’t take me for granted just because I am always here for you. Yes, I love you unconditionally … but this does not make me weak, rather it exhibits the strength of my Love. That Love will not likely be found in a fantasy/shadow.”
I could say to myself, “Be grateful for the things that you have. Stop pining for the things, or circumstances, that you hope for. Sit back in your awareness, and find the things that you are grateful for in the here and now … and let the fantasies/shadows dance in the pale moonlight … alone. What will be, will be.”
What I felt God actually prompt me toward was this:
“Stop pining for the fantasies/shadows that would distract you, or derail you, from your relationship with Me. If you try to force your own desires into reality, that is exactly what you will accomplish … for even if what you get is what I wanted you to have … you will have gotten it in the wrong way … and it will fall away and wither as a result. WAIT on Me, be CONTENT with Me, and TRUST Me … I will make you happy beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations.”
Good words from God, those.

Drumming – an expressive art that truly crosses all cultural divides
More on the “world-wide band” project taking contributions from anyone, anywhere in the world … I am excited to participate.
~~~~~~~
– A TED talk with Indian percussionist, Sivamani
Drumming is truly something that every culture on earth has in common … it is a musical foundation. No matter where or who you are, you can find something to drum on. That concept is at the essence of this year long series of song projects I will be mixing and creating.
For those who do not know, I will be uploading a sung version of an original song, without accompaniment, each month for the next year. The intent is to put together a twelve song album unlike any ever created … with contributions from anyone, anywhere on planet Earth. A world-wide band!
I am now beginning to piece together the different recordings I have for the percussion part of the current Musical Mosaic song project, “Faith Is A Bird”.
What is SIN?
Okay, since this is such a big topic to cover there, I dedicated more than one meditation session to it … they are: “The Absence of Sin“, “Dorian Gray – On Sin“, and “Meditation“.
So what is “sin”, anyway? I grew up in an extremely fundamentalist Christian background where sins were absolute (even if the execution of these judgments tended to the extreme of hypocrisy). In my mid-twenties I went through a period of spiritual conflict … I knew that the way I had been raised was not God’s will. I could feel God’s prompting, and hear God’s voice (when I took the time to listen back then) telling me that the entirety of these views were not God’s views. There is truth mixed in with un-truth being spread about by man.
Because I was so conflicted, and SO dis-enchanted, I actually went through a period described in the “Dorian Gray” quote … where you sort of try everything in order to overcome it. Those were VERY troubled times. Not only did I do a lot of things that I shouldn’t have been doing, but I encountered spiritual things that were not of God. Very few are able to untangle themselves from those nightmares once they dabble … it’s like a spiritual “tar-baby” that just keeps sucking you in the more you try to break free. Fortunately, I never abandoned my relationship with God. I continued praying, and meditating, asking forgiveness, and seeking God’s guidance throughout that entire period … and THAT was my salvation in the long run. Otherwise, if not for God’s grace and help, I would probably still be there.
So, no … the views expressed in that quote from Dorian Gray do NOT express my views on sin. It was a part of my past though … and I am forever grateful for God’s grace and compassion. I came from one extreme (extreme fundamentalist Christianity) and when I rejected that extreme I then, for a while, went to the other end of the spectrum … the opposite equal. Some people just HAVE to get their hand burnt … I, it seems, am just that stubborn (or at least I was).
Fortunately, I was freed from that by God. I was able to devote years to meditating and nurturing my relationship with God. Many breakthroughs, and spiritual blockages cleared, later I have come to a place where I feel that I understand God’s will. The chains that people try to use to bind us down using the word “sin” is largely a way to control … control people’s minds, and their actions, and ultimately their faith. We are constantly being assaulted by forces that do not want us to have a relationship with God.
“Sin” is what happens when we allow ourselves to be closed off from God. That’s it. If you have an open heart, with ears to hear and eyes to see what God has in store for you, you will be led by God. If you keep your heart open, always maintaining a spiritual connection to God … then you WON’T be sinning. It really is that simple. If you do fail, and “sin”, then all you need to do is take the time to open your heart and connect to God again … no penance, no rite of purification. As with any relationship, if you do something to hurt the other party, you ask for their forgiveness. It’s that simple … just maintain an open relationship with God, at all times.
However, it takes a HUGE amount of discipline to maintain this “open-heart” connection at all times. Sometimes it feels SO natural, like you could just stay there forever … those moments are blessings. What is difficult is to keep your heart open no matter what. No matter what happens in your life (depression, physical ailment, death, heartbreak, abuse, etc). NEVER close your heart to God. Keep yourself wide open, and allow God to inhabit this new space … in fact, a new opportunity to grow.
As you do this, you will see that God really DOES comfort and nurture you … protect and guide you.
When you close yourself to God, you are simply stumbling about … flailing about like someone who doesn’t know how to swim … someone who will drown. That is when we sin. When you are open hearted and connected to God … you will not be sinning. God is a God of LOVE … if you are based in LOVE in everything that you do … you won’t be sinning.
During one of these meditation sessions for this posting on SIN, I began it by asking for forgiveness of my sins … just out of routine, really. I heard God’s voice ask me,
“Why are you asking for forgiveness of your sins? Have you sinned today?”
I thought that was a strange question because I have been such a PROFOUND sinner at times in my life, that I just naturally assume there is some sin that I have committed, without even knowing perhaps. I thought about it, and I then realized that (at that moment in time) I had spent the entire day connected to God. I never once shut my heart down. I had just been blissfully going on throughout the day, constantly connected to God. It COMPLETELY blew my mind to actually be able to say back to God,
“No … I guess I haven’t.”
My whole body warmed, and my 6th chakra tingled electrically … God’s Happiness flowed through me at this new awareness achieved.
* Note – for any reading this who do not understand what I mean when I talk about having an “open heart” … a good place to find some understanding on this can be found in the book, “The Untethered Soul“. I’m sure there are many other resources as well that others can provide by leaving a comment.
What the flower within me would look like
It is impossible to discern what it is that God has in store for us, which is why so few actually attempt to walk such a path. It seems SO much safer (and more rational to our limited minds) to plan everything out, and plot our course accordingly.
The primary problem is that we don’t really know what will actually make us happy. We think we know, but such deductions are invariably influenced by our own insecurities, our past experiences both good and bad, and whatever upbringing we have been personally saddled with. So we plot our course and devote every ounce of energy to the journey of making it happen … making our dreams come true. When we get there, however, we find that there is something within still wanting … that aching, hollow void begging to be filled.
The second problem, which is even more daunting than the first problem, is that we have no clue what the future will hold … NONE. So not only do we not know what the future will hold, we don’t really know what will actually make us happy even if we could somehow fathom the great mysteries of the future.
When you think about it, it starts to seem fairly ludicrous that anyone would think that they could figure out the path to their own happiness. Yet that is what we do; all of us for at least parts of our lives, and many of us for ALL of our lives.
So what does it mean to allow God to guide us on our own personalized path to happiness??
First, you have to learn how to stop all the busyness; to quiet your mind … and then listen. When you’ve gotten to a place where this feels quite natural … it means you are ready to start walking that path.
Secondly, you have to be willing to trust; to follow the promptings that might not make sense to you at the time … but that your intuition KNOWS to be Divine. These promptings could be about inner work that needs to be done, or outer actions that you feel prompted to enact.
Most importantly, everything you do MUST be based in Love. If it is not, then it is a prompting from something other than God.
A year ago, if you would’ve asked me what would make me happy, I could have given you a list of what that happiness would require. Six months ago you could have asked me the same question and I would’ve given you another list … a very different list, but one that I felt equally sure of.
Today … I don’t have a list anymore. Virtually none of the things on those two lists have happened … and yet God has fulfilled me more completely than I could ever have imagined! I couldn’t even have written a list for the things within me that are now being fulfilled … I was but a bud, without a clue what the flower within me would look like.
Sheer Bliss, overwhelming Love, and pure Joy … radiating out into the Universe. That is the path that God would put you on … if you only take the time to learn how to listen.
“Faith Is A Bird” – only two more weeks to get your musical ideas in!
Hopefully this project will have wide participation … I think it would be cool to hear what it sounds like to have music melded from different countries around the world!
~~~~~~~
Just want to remind those of you who want to contribute your musical ideas … each Musical Mosaic project will be one month long, and then I will upload a new song to start working on.
So if you have been wanting to record something for my “a capella” version of “Faith Is A Bird” … time is ticking. 🙂 Here is the vocal recording of the song:
I will be taking submissions for this song up until October 14th. If you submit something later than that date you may still be selected if I like what you’ve done enough.
But I will begin forming my ideas and putting the actual song together on or before October 14th. The sooner you get your contribution in, the more likely you are to be chosen as a musical member of this worldwide band (for this song).
Not to worry though, there will be a new ORIGINAL song posted every month for the next year … so 11 more songs in total.
HEY! If Resignation is sitting there whispering in your ear that you aren’t good enough, or nothing will come of this, or you’ll just be rejected, or who knows what other crap … get over it!
We can’t live our lives in Resignation if we are going to be truly free and happy!
So do it! Sing, or play along, come up with what YOU think sounds cool as accompaniment to my vocal (or sing the lead if you want!). Let’s make some REVOLUTIONARY music!
