“Talk to yourself once in a day, otherwise, you may miss meeting an excellent person in this world.”

Suffering is due to our disconnection with the inner soul. Meditation is establishing that connection.

Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

Stop Struggling – Pema Chodron

freedom, inner peace, letting go

My words to meditate on for the day:
“Milarepa, the twelfth-century Tibetan yogi who sang wonderful songs about the proper way to meditate, said that the mind has more projections than there are dust motes in a sunbeam and that even hundreds of spears couldn’t put an end to that. As meditators we might as well stop struggling against our thoughts and realize that honesty and humor are far more inspiring and helpful than any kind of solemn religious striving for or against anything”.

A Two-Legged Paradox

tumblr_mkrmd3U4yt1qfoe6no1_1280

My words to meditate on … while considering the inner workings of our minds … the ways we view ourselves and how unsparingly cruel we can be:

“When you open yourself to the continually changing, impermanent, dynamic nature of your own being and of reality, you increase your capacity to love and care about other people and your capacity to not be afraid. You’re able to keep your eyes open, your heart open, and your mind open. And you notice when you get caught up in prejudice, bias, and aggression. You develop an enthusiasm for no longer watering those negative seeds, from now until the day you die. And, you begin to think of your life as offering endless opportunities to start to do things differently.”

“There is a strange duality in the human which makes for an ethical paradox. We have definitions of good qualities and of bad; not changing things, but generally considered good and bad throughout the ages and throughout the species. Of the good, we think always of wisdom, tolerance, kindliness, generosity, humility; and the qualities of cruelty, greed, self-interest, graspingness, and rapacity are universally considered undesirable. And yet in our structure of society, the so-called and considered good qualities are invariable concomitants of failure, while the bad ones are the cornerstones of success … Perhaps no other animal is so torn between alternatives. Man might be described fairly adequately, if simply, as a two-legged paradox.”

In Change There Is Power

transformed

My words to meditate on today … on the theme of change.  We all want the good results of change: to win the lottery, accomplish our dreams, be loved and accepted for who we authentically are, etc., etc..  If we are following where we feel Divinely led there surely will be many positive changes.  However, to leave behind a way of life that you have known to embrace something new … is scary.  There will also be frightening changes that you have to just exist through … possibly transforming into a completely different person in some ways.  We can’t pick and choose though … if we aren’t willing to face those fears, or changes that seem daunting, we will never truly transform into that new being we are called to be.  We can’t even predict what those changes will be … and THAT is what makes them so scary.  You have to trust … allow … let go … be refined … and let the transformation unfold its newly crafted wings.

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.”

– Alan Cohen

“All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.”

– Anatole France

“Rather than letting our negativity get the better of us, we could acknowledge that right now we feel like a piece of shit and not be squeamish about taking a good look.”
