Clarity Comes in the Afterglow

There is a curious replenishing that occurs within when we see something through to the finish.  You can see this in the world all around us: sports, careers, hobbies, etc.  When you finally reach that pinnacle you can stop and look back at what you have accomplished … and be grateful.  The same thing happens for us spiritually as well; if we take the time to actually sit, meditate, and listen to God … and then to begin the spiritual undertaking we feel guided toward, and see it through to the end.

Often times the biggest breakthroughs we can have in our lives come AFTER we’ve seen something through to the end.  We tend to want these discoveries to happen while we are working so desperately hard … we want to see the results.  This seldom happens.  Usually we finish something, relax into the new place where we have arrived, and then somehow everything seems to CLICK … that “a-ha” moment!  Suddenly everything we were trying to force our Selves to understand and embody … just happens within us, and we feel a wonderful sense of renewal.

I have been experiencing this over the past few days.  Truthfully, this past week has been an incredibly difficult and emotionally stressful week … but all of that came about as a result of seeing something through to the finish; something that I felt guided by God to start, and this week to finally bring to a place of completion.  It has brought about a lot of changes, and if I were to write them down on paper it would all seem daunting and stressful.  Truthfully though, the hardest part was in making myself DO them … willing myself to follow God’s guidance, even if it seemed frightening.  The repercussions that have come afterward are almost afterthoughts … I feel such a wonderful sense of peace in knowing that I am on the Path that I am supposed to be on.

Clarity comes in the afterglow of Divine consummation.

The trials that I currently am going through I know to be things that I am intended to experience and learn from … because I know I am on that Divinely guided Path.  That transforms them from anxiety causing events, into lessons that I can embrace … such a different outlook and perspective from what I spent most of my life doing!

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.

Man is the facade of a temple

My words to meditate upon today:

“Then from those profound slumbers we awake in a dawn, not knowing who we are, being nobody, newly born, ready for anything, the brain emptied of that past which was life until then. And perhaps it is more wonderful still when our landing at the waking-point is abrupt and the thoughts of our sleep, hidden by a cloak of oblivion, have no time to return to us gradually, before sleep ceases. Then, from the black storm through which we seem to have passed (but we do not even say we), we emerge prostrate, without a thought, a we that is void of content.”

– Marcel Proust

“A man is the facade of a temple wherein all wisdom and all good abide. What we commonly call man, the eating, drinking, planting, counting man, does not, as we know him, represent himself, but misrepresents himself. Him we do not respect, but the soul, whose organ he is, would he let it appear though his action, would make our knees bend. When it breaths through his intellect, it is genius, when it breaths through his will, it is virtue; when it flows through his affection, it is love”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dying Daily

My words for meditation today:

“Why is it that we are so frightened of death? Because death is the unknown. We don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow; actually, we don’t know what is going to happen. Though we build for tomorrow, actually, realistically, we don’t know; and so there is always the fear of tomorrow. So, fear is the guiding factor, which is the incapacity to meet the unknown, and therefore we continue taking today over into tomorrow. That is what we are doing, is it not? We give continuity to our idiosyncrasies, to our jealousies, to our stupidities, to our memories; wherever we are, we carry them over from day to day.

Don’t we do that? And so there is no dying, there is only an assurance of continuity. That is a fact. Our names, our actions, the things that we do, our property, the desire to be – all these give a continuity. Now, that which continues obviously cannot renew. There can be renewal only when there is an ending. If you are the same tomorrow as you are today, how can there be renewal? That is, if you are attached to an idea, to an experience which you have had yesterday and which you desire to continue tomorrow, there is no renewal; there is a continuity of the memory of the sensation of that experience, but the experience itself is dead. There is only the memory of the sensation of that experience, and it is that sensation you want to continue. And where there is continuity, obviously there is no renewal. And yet it is what most of us want – we want to continue.

We want to continue with our worries, with our pleasures, with our memories; and so most of us are actually uncreative. There is no possibility of a rebirth, a renewal. Whereas, if each day we died, finished at the end of the day all our worries, all our jealousies, all our idiocies and vanities, our cruel gossip – you know, the whole business – if each day we came to an end and did not carry all that over into tomorrow, then there would be a possibility of renewal, would there not?”

Replenishing Renewal

My words to meditate upon today:

“I believe that when you stop renewing and are no longer open to change and the possibilities that continually unfold, you stop being alive and are just getting through the years. Transformation doesn’t happen unless you’re willing: It’s your choice.”

Oprah Winfrey

“Love never dies a natural death. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish it’s source.”
